Synopsis: The documentary Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story provides an answer to that query. In 1995, Reeve fell while riding a horse and was paralyzed from the neck down. It required a cultural examination of false notions of power and reliability. Reeve flatlined twice on the day of the accident, and medics said he had a 50/50 chance of surviving until the evening. In addition to surviving, he became a powerful nonpartisan advocate for stem cell research and spinal damage. His family and friends were the ones who embraced him behind the scenes.
