Synopsis: For head honcho Roone Arledge and his team, the day begins as usual. Then there are reports of what appear to be gunfire coming from the Olympic village itself. Producer Geoffrey Mason decides to move one of the cameras outdoors as it becomes more obvious that a hostage scenario is occurring in order to have a nice, close-up view of the structure where the drama is taking place. Meanwhile, Arledge must battle the news department to be allowed to report on the story. Showing the sports crew’s frantic attempts to respond responsibly to a potentially fatal scenario creates suspense.
