Synopsis: The focus of Watson’s second episode is a man who thinks he is someone completely else, which is appropriate considering the show’s difficulty defining its identity. Watson is famous for being Sherlock Holmes’s companion, and the fact that he is a doctor in almost all of the character’s depictions is essentially incidental. Sherlock Holmes is a legendary figure in crime literature. “Redcoat” is an effort to incorporate a traditional medical drama plot into a crime procedural framework, but it falls flat. Andrew Tanner, a Redcoat-clad American Revolutionary War reenactor, gets shot in the head.
